Moegi Patent Attorneys assists overseas clients to procure intellectual property protection in Japan in the fields of patents, trademarks and designs. Our knowledge and experience gained from handling many Japanese applications, ensures that the process is effective and efficient. Our firm deals mainly with applications of chemical and related fields, including food, life science (biotechnology, medicine, etc.), environment, and energy. Members of our staff have majored in these fields, some at American universities, or have worked as a researcher in research institutes or in company laboratories, or as a member of a company’s intellectual property department. We are adept at managing applications in fields where there is a remarkable rate of technical innovation.

We believe that a patent application should be filed taking a later examination in consideration, and the enforcement of a future patent right, including exploitation and license, and litigation. In order to successfully file such an application, it is necessary to have an up-to-date knowledge on the practice in the Japan Patent Office, and to comprehend various problems relating to the exploitation of an invention, license and litigation. Some of our attorneys have worked for the Japan Patent Office and at Tokyo or Osaka High Court, and are experienced in the examination/appeal practice at the JPO as well as in litigation practices.
